Health + Safety = Lasting Spa Fun

1. Always dip before plunging! Be sure your water temperature is a safe and welcoming temperature for you before soaking.

2. Excessively high spa temperatures or high spa temperatures over a prolonged period of time are potentially dangerous, so be careful to avoid overheating and dehydration.

3. People with heart, lung, asthma, diabetes, high/low blood pressure disease, or pathological circulatory disorders need to consult a physician prior to spa usage in order to be clear about the appropriate temperature to maintain their spa at, as well as, the correct length of time to spend soaking in their spa.

4. Never allow babies and toddlers in your spa! Spas become unsanitary the instant a toilet accident occurs. Anyone in the water then risks illness. Also, children are more sensitive to temperature than adults, and should not remain in a heated spa as long as adults. If you are unsure of how much time or what temperature is appropriate, be sure to consult with your child's pediatrician for a professional healthcare recommendation.

5. To avoid accidents involving children, always keep your spa cover locked with child resistant locks! Keep a locked fence around your spa area if outdoors, and be sure to keep all children and animals off spa covers at all times. Spa covers are not meant to hold weight, but to protect your spa water from heat loss and exposure to debris.

6. Keep long hair away from any suction elements such as the skimmer! Avoid accidents by keeping hair above water.

7. Never bring glass of any kind into the spa!

8. Avoid eating in the spa as food accidents can clog filters and contaminate your spa water.

9. Shower prior to soaking in your spa. This will help save on chemical costs and usage, as well as prevent clogging your filter with gummy soaps.

10. Do not allow animals of any kind in the spa. Animal carry bacteria, oils, hair, and street dirt which can seriously contaminate spa water and clog the filter system.

11. Never bring anything electrical (eg. radios, tv's, hair dryers, lights, etc.) within 5 ft. of your spa. Overhead fixtures, such as lights and fans, need to be a minimum of 12 ft. from the surface of the spa to ensure safety.

12. Before operating your spa for the first time, be sure to have employed a licensed electrician to ensure that your electrical system is properly grounded. Also, push your GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) at least once every month to ensure proper functioning.
